Obedience even when it’s difficult

Andre sat quietly in his car, gripping the steering wheel. He knew what God was asking him to do but it didn’t feel easy.
Weeks earlier, his business partner had treated him unfairly, taking credit for work Andre had done. The frustration still burned inside him. Now, after much prayer, Andre felt a strong conviction: “Go and make things right. Forgive him.”
Everything in him resisted. Why should I? He was wrong.
But the prompting wouldn’t leave.
Finally, Andre stepped out of the car, walked into the office, and spoke honestly. He chose peace over pride, humility over anger.
The conversation wasn’t perfect, but something shifted. The tension broke. A weight lifted off his heart.
As Andre walked away, he realized something powerful—obedience didn’t just change the situation, it changed him.
Obedience to God is not always convenient or comfortable. In fact, it is often hardest when our feelings, pride, or fears push us in the opposite direction.
But true obedience is not based on how we feel—it is based on our trust in God’s wisdom. When we obey, even when it’s difficult, we align ourselves with God’s purpose and allow Him to work in our lives.
Delayed obedience is still disobedience, and partial obedience is not complete. God calls us to respond fully, even when the outcome is uncertain.
Like Andre, we may not always see immediate results, but obedience always brings internal peace and spiritual growth. God honours a willing heart.
