THE BIRTH OF JESUS
Once upon a time, in the small town of Nazareth, there lived a young woman named Mary. She was engaged to a man named Joseph, who was a carpenter.
One day, an angel named Gabriel appeared to Mary and told her that she had been chosen by God to bear a child who would be the Son of God. Mary was afraid but trusted in God’s plan for her life.
Soon after, Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem, Joseph’s ancestral town, to register for a census. They could not find a place to stay, so they ended up in a stable where Mary gave birth to a baby boy.
That night, a group of shepherds who were watching their sheep in the fields outside of Bethlehem were visited by an angel who told them about the birth of the Savior. The shepherds were filled with joy and hurried to find the baby in the stable.
In the meantime, wise men from the East had seen a star in the sky that they believed signaled the birth of a new king. They followed the star to Bethlehem and found the baby Jesus in the stable. They worshiped Him and presented Him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
The news of Jesus’ birth spread quickly throughout the land, and many people marveled at the miracle. Mary and Joseph treasured the events of that night in their hearts and praised God for the gift of their son, who would grow up to become the Savior of the world.
