Trusting God in uncertainty

Marsha stared at the email on her phone for the third time. “Position terminated effective immediately.” Just like that, her job was gone.

Bills were due. Her savings were small. Questions flooded her mind faster than she could answer them. What now? How will I manage?

That night, she couldn’t sleep. Instead, she sat quietly and whispered a simple prayer, “God, I don’t understand… but I trust You.”

The next few days were uncomfortable. No clear direction. No immediate solution. But each morning, Marsha chose to pray instead of panic.

A week later, an old colleague unexpectedly called. A new opportunity had opened—one that matched her skills even better than her previous job.

As she hung up the phone, tears filled her eyes. In the middle of uncertainty, God had been working all along.

Uncertainty is one of the greatest tests of faith because it forces us to release control. We naturally want clarity, timelines, and guarantees but God often works in ways we cannot see or predict.

Trusting God does not mean we understand everything; it means we believe He is still in control when life feels unstable.

Like Marsha, we may face moments where nothing makes sense. But those are the moments where faith grows the deepest. When we choose prayer over panic and trust over fear, we allow God to guide our steps.

Remember, uncertainty is not the absence of God—it is often the place where He does His greatest work.
